Discover Science at Willow
Willow’s science program is about discovery, exploration and investigation. It is also about brain development. Science is exciting and in order to engage our students, we utilize hands on learning as much as possible.
Children delve into units of study that can last one to three months. These units provide experiments, exploration, hands on activities and field trips.
We utilize a three-year rotation of content, however, each year the children are taught a life science, an earth science and a physical science.
In addition, the science skills are based on the National Science Education Standards, the Benchmarks for Science Literacy, a part of Project 2061 of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Common Core Standards. These skills include:
-
Observation
-
Comparison
-
Classification
-
